Bill Marchant - Actor, Director, Writer
Bill is the head of the acting department at Vancouver Film School. He has worked as an actor, director and writer. His 2004 feature film won the award for Best Film at the Montreal International Film Festival. He is best known for his recurring roles on Stargate SG-1 and Davinci’s Inquest. He is currently working on his next two films, Wishful Thinking and Vancouver Divorce.
Linda Gill-Crone - Make Up Design
Linda has been doing make up for over 30 years, and is a member of IATSE. She has worked on such films as, Alive, with Ethan Hawk, Searching For Bobby Fisher, with Ben Kingsley, Johnny Mnemonic, with Keanu Reeves, Christopher Columbus, with Marlon Brando, & Cocktail, with Tom Cruise, to name a few. She is now doing personal make up consulting and is an instructor in make up at The Vancouver Film School.
David Crone - Camera Operator, Production Manager, Steadicam Operator, Assistant Director
David Crone has been in the film industry for over thirty-five years as a camera operator, production manager, steadicam operator, second unit director and assistant director. Some recent films he has worked on include The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Trick ‘r Treat, the HBO miniseries John Adams and both Night at the Museum one and two, to name a few of the over one-hundred and fifty feature films.
Rob Crone - Camera Operator, Grip, Visual Effects Data Wrangler
Rob has worked in the film industry in Vancouver, Ottawa and Yellowknife for the past 8 years. He has worked as a camera operator, dop, grip, electric, camera assistant and visual effects data wrangler in that time as well as directing a music documentary for the band The Withering Pines and the director of photography for The Murder Plans single ‘Centretown, 2am’ and a short film in Yellowknife entitled ‘Ciest to Lie’. He is currently working on a feature film in Vancouver.
Julia Ivanona - Documentary Filmmaker
Julia Ivanova is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. She directed, filmed and edited a number of films for such TV channels as CBC, Global and Knowledge. Currently, Julia Ivanova is directing, filming and editing the documentaries Family Portrait in Black and White for TV2 Denmark, a film about mixed-race children in Eastern Europe; and Love in Translation for CBC Newsworld and Knowledge, a film about international love and scam. She is a board member of the BC Chapter of Documentary Organization of Canada as well a board member of Hot Doc Film Festival in Toronto.
Boris Ivanov - Director, Producer, Crew Manager
Boris Ivanov has spent the last 12 years on film sets. From big budget features to documentaries, from TV series to commercials Boris has done it all - starting with picking up garbage to managing a crew of sixty from arranging a shoot in Greenland to directing drama in his back yard. A child actor in his youth, Boris fell in love with the bright lights at a very young age. Winner of film festival awards for his short films, Boris has produced documentaries for CBC and Global, directed docu-drama recreations for TLC, Discovery, WeTV & History, unit managed Battlestar Gallactica Season III & Bionic Woman pilot and coordinated several feature films including Agent Cody Banks, A Guy Thing, and a Greenland/Northern Canada Unit for Disney’s Eight Below.
Jake Dunbar - Lighting, Production
Jake graduated from Elgin Park Secondary in 2006. He participated in two Zoom festivals. Jake won awards in 2004/05 for “Take Five and Listen” and in 2005/06 for “When Kyle Met Rylee.” Jake graduated from the Art Institute of Vancouver/Burnaby in 2008 (via the Full $24,000 scholarship he received from the Zoom). He has worked on some independent features. One being a feature length docudrama on the deeper truths of ultra running and the human spirit, as well as some other independent features in the camera/lighting
departments. He has also advanced his own production company working on corporate promotional and commercials where he has received such business awards as the student Entrepreneur of the Year at the Surrey Business Awards for Plaxin Productions. Jake is currently planning on attending some more school possibly in Europe in the next year.
Bob Bottieri - Production Design
Bob is a production designer and author of a book on set design for children: Kid Made. He works include feature films, tv movies as well as pilots and television series. He has recently wrapped the feature film Beyond the Black Rainbow and is currently in prep for the sci fi thriller Iron Golem
LaVonne Girard - Director, Producer
LaVonne is a director and producer of television documentaries which have taken her around the world from Paris to Moscow and St. Petersburg, from the North Pole to the equatorial Rain Forests of Guyana and Brazil. She is also a decorator for feature films, movies of the week, independent films, and commercials. Her credits include the NBC series “Psychâ€, Mount Pleasant, and Chicken Soup for the Soul.
